Text

Measurement processes in material science determine the integrity of highly important aspects of daily life – building materials, infrastructure, transportation – on whose security we must rely.

For productions processes, credible information on the quality and resilience of materials has substantial impact on production efficiency, business decisions and competitive advantages.

QuoData is familiar with the specific requirements for quality assurance of such measurements.

QuoData – PTB – BAM: joint studies on dangerous goods and substances

Text

Pictogram that designates flammability of a substance

In general QuoData works together with the BAM in Germany in quality assurance for the testing of dangerous goods and hazardous materials.

The BAM Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin, QuoData GmbH in Dresden, and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig collectively form the centre for quality assurance for testing of dangerous goods and hazardous substances CEQAT-DGHS. Together, they provide an interlaboratory comparison program for testing the physical-chemical hazardous properties of dangerous goods and substances.

Text

Regular international interlaboratory studies are carried out within the scope of CEQAT-DGHS.

The center was initiated by the EOS Working group from the International Group of Experts on the Explosion Risks of Unstable Substances (IGUS).

Our competences

While BAM and the PTB target their efforts on the realization of the method (including the selection and preparation of samples and the establishment of a study method), QuoData lends its expertise in the following areas:

  • Development of study design
  • Organization of interlaboratory studies
  • Data management
  • Statistical analysis
  • Preparation of final reports
What's new

Interlaboratory test on the method UN test C.1
The method validation study for test methods for corrosion to metals is still in preparation.

Interlaboratory test on the method UN test N.5
The method validation study for test methods for substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases is still in preparation.

Interlaboratory test on the determination of the lower flammability limit (LFL) of gases
This interlaboratory study is still in preparation.

Call for expression of interest of participation
Participation in the interlaboratory comparisons of the CEQAT-DGHS is open to laboratories throughout the world. If you are interested in participating in the CEQAT-DGHS interlaboratory comparison programme, please respond to the 9th Call for expression of interest of participation.
